Career Opportunities in the
Communication Field

The popularity of Brockport's communication program supports the conviction that job opportunities in communication are abundant. In business, these include writing and editing newsletters, speeches and media releases; organizing and producing radio and television presentations; speaking at press conferences; and interviewing and conducting group problem-solving sessions.

Students in the communication applications and communication studies programs may look forward to graduate studies or careers in sales, marketing, advertising, counseling, and personnel management, training and development. Recent SUNY Brockport graduates are successful members of advertising, sales and public relations organizations. Others have completed their doctoral studies in communication and are teaching at major universities.

Broadcasting and journalism graduates have found employment in print and broadcast media across the country. Including network and cable television, broadcast promotion, as disc jockeys, weather reporters, general newspaper reporters and as professional sports team publicists.
