  • Rising Star Award (new)

On March 4 2008 I was awarded the "Rising Star" Award by the Research Foundation of the State University of New York (SUNY). The award recognizes faculty whose research extends the boundaries of human knowledge and drive economic development in New York.

    Patent (new)

Our research work on Waveband Switching (WBS) in optical networks "Efficient Optical Network Design using Multi-granular Optical Cross-connects with Wavelength Band Switching", was recently awarded a patent (US Patent Number: 7162632) by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. [see news in NYSTAR]. This technology is available for (licensing).

    IEEE Rochester Chapter

Currently I am one of the officers of the IEEE Communications and Aerospace and Electronic Systems Societies Joint Chapter.

    Student Research

If you are interested in doing research, working on a Thesis, Project, Independent Study etc., please drop by my office (211A FOB). I am looking to work with motivated and dedicated students.Topics include (but not limited to) all areas of Computer Networks (wired, wireless networks) and Computer/Network Security.
