Rising Star Award (new)
On March 4 2008 I was awarded the "Rising Star" Award by the Research Foundation of the State University of New York (SUNY). The award recognizes faculty whose research extends the boundaries of human knowledge and drive economic development in New York.
Patent (new)
Our research work on Waveband Switching (WBS) in optical networks "Efficient Optical Network Design using Multi-granular Optical Cross-connects with Wavelength Band Switching", was recently awarded a patent (US Patent Number: 7162632) by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. [see news in NYSTAR].
This technology is available for (licensing).
